Guinea’s military government has suspended 28 political parties, including the RPG of
deposed President Alpha Condé, for three months. The move comes as General
Mamadi Doumbouya, who took power in a 2021 coup, reaffirmed that 2025 would be a
“crucial electoral year.” The suspension raises concerns over political freedoms and the
transition process in Guinea.
