Position Overview:
WACSOF is looking for a creative and passionate Volunteer Social Media Specialist to enhance our online presence and engage audiences across various platforms. This volunteer role provides an opportunity to develop your social media skills while helping to elevate WACSOF’s mission and initiatives. The Volunteer Social Media Specialist will be responsible for managing WACSOF’s social media channels, creating compelling content, and driving engagement with key audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, schedule, and post engaging content across WACSOF’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.).
- Monitor social media channels for feedback, inquiries, and potential engagement opportunities.
- Assist in creating graphics, videos, and other multimedia content.
- Track and analyse social media metrics to gauge the effectiveness of campaigns.
- Collaborate with the communications team to align social media efforts with WACSOF’s broader goals and initiatives.
- Stay updated on social media trends and incorporate best practices to improve outreach.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and content creation.
- Excellent written communication skills and creativity.
- Ability to work independently and meet posting deadlines.
- Knowledge of simple graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) and social media management tools is a plus.
- Interest in civil society, advocacy, and international development.
