Agriculture is the backbone of West Africa’s economy, employing over 60% of the population. WACSOF supports initiatives to modernize farming practices, enhance productivity, and ensure food security for the region. This includes promoting sustainable land management, adopting climate-smart agriculture, and advocating for policies that protect smallholder farmers and their access to markets.
Environmental preservation is equally critical as the region faces challenges of deforestation, desertification, and climate change. WACSOF works with stakeholders to implement climate adaptation strategies, protect biodiversity, and develop renewable energy sources. Through advocacy and community engagement, we strive to balance economic growth with ecological sustainability for future generations.
