Position Overview:
WACSOF is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Volunteer Financial Officer to join our team and support the financial oversight of our projects and programs. This volunteer role is ideal for someone looking to build financial management skills in the non-profit sector, contributing to impactful initiatives across West Africa. The Volunteer Financial Officer will assist with financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to help ensure transparency and effective resource management within WACSOF.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and maintaining financial reports, budgets, and expense tracking for WACSOF’s projects.
- Monitor project budgets and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Support financial planning and forecasting efforts for various programs.
- Conduct routine audits and reconcile accounts to ensure financial accuracy.
- Collaborate with the team to prepare reports for stakeholders and donors.
- Assist with general financial administration and record-keeping tasks.
Requirements:
- Basic understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, or bookkeeping.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software is a plus.
- Interest in non-profit financial management and international development.
- Previous experience in finance, accounting, or budgeting is an asset but not required.
